Lisa Rock, President

Lisa Rock has served as president of National Medical Billing Services since 2003 and has over 30 years of experience in the industry. Lisa manages over 500 billers specializing in revenue cycle management for ambulatory surgery centers and their affiliated surgeons. 

Lisa is listed in the St. Louis Business Journal as the Most Influential Business Women in St. Louis in 2016 and named as one of the Small Business Monthly’s Top Women Business Owners for 2016.

Tamara Wagner, BS, CPC | Vice President, Coding Compliance

Tamara is considered to be the one of the strongest coders in the ASC industry. She joined National Medical in 2004, and today serves as Vice President of Coding Compliance.

In this position, Tamara is responsible for creating and conducting a systematic audit process for our clients and our coders. She then identifies areas of opportunity for improvement and organizes the training of any such coding or compliance issues. She also developed a training program for new coders. In addition, Tamara makes sure that she and her team focus on getting extensive continuing education in ASC coding so that all National Medical coders stay current with all of the trends and changes in the industry.

Tamara began her career at SmithKline Clinical Laboratories as a medical technologist. She then moved into various healthcare roles before joining National Medical. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including ASCA and Becker’s ASC, and regularly contributes to numerous industry publications.

Alison J. Kuley, CPC

Alison is a certified professional coder and has been with National Medical for five years. Alison is widely considered the premier coding thought leader for spine, and also has deep expertise in orthopedics and pain management.

Alison is regularly asked to speak nationally at spine conferences, including The ASC Association Annual Show, Becker’s Pain and Spine, Ohio ASC Society, The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, The NY/NJ ASC society, and at AAPC conferences. Alison has also co-presented webinars for Becker’s, and regularly publishes articles for Becker’s as well as Decision Health. Prior to National Medical, Alison was the billing manager for a large orthopedic group for 14 years that had 7 physicians, 5 physician assistants, 9 physical therapists and an ambulatory surgery center. Alison was involved in the coding, billing, appeals, and contract processes. Previously, Alison managed the practice for a prominent spine surgeon.
